How Banktrail handles website and workspace data

This notice describes the public Banktrail website and the hosted Banktrail workspace. Local or self-hosted installations use storage configured by the person or organization running them.

Optional public website analytics

The public website does not load Google Analytics unless you choose “Allow analytics.” If allowed, Banktrail sends page views and sign-up link clicks to Google Analytics. The page URL is canonicalized without query strings or fragments; the referrer is reduced to its origin. A sign-up click records interest in opening the sign-up page, not a completed account. Banktrail does not put statement contents, account identifiers, form values, or link text into these custom events.

Google Analytics may process technical and usage information under Google's own Privacy Policy. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled for this property. The analytics tag is not included on sign-in, sign-up, workspace, parser, session, or shared-book pages.

Your current choice: optional analytics are off until you allow them.

The choice is saved in this browser's local storage. Use the footer's “Analytics choices” link to change it. Keeping analytics off prevents new Banktrail analytics events from being sent from this browser; it does not remove data Google already received.

Hosted workspace data

When you import statements into a hosted workspace, Banktrail processes their contents to build the transaction ledger and its source references. The workspace stores ledger records and any evidence attachments added to it. This workspace data is used to provide the review tools; it is not sent through the public website analytics events described above.

A request to delete a hosted workspace starts an asynchronous deletion of that workspace's ledger and attachments. The deletion request and the data purge are separate steps, so removal may not be immediate. This notice does not specify a fixed completion time or a retention period for account records, operational logs, or backups.

For a local or self-hosted installation, the operator chooses the database and attachment locations and manages retention there.

About Banktrail

Read about the product, or sign in to open your hosted workspace. Do not post account details or statement data in a public channel.

The public website currently identifies the service by its Banktrail product name. A verified legal operator name and a dedicated privacy contact have not been published here.
